Lt. Col. Herbert W. Moore, USAF Retired, age 91, formerly of Upper Arlington, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at his son's residence in Cumming. He retired from the U.S. Air Force serving two combat tours as a B-17 pilot in the 8th Air Force during World War II and a lifetime member of the VFW. Employed by the Columbus Museum of Art as the Business Manager from 1968-1981. He was a former member of St. Agatha Catholic Church and currently attended Browns Ridge Community Church of Cumming. His daughters, Linda Moore and Mary Matsubara; beloved wife of 59 years, Margaret Ann "Marty" Moore; parents and two brothers and sister preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Jones and Paul W. (Ann) Moore; grandchildren, Jennifer, Mark and Jay Jones, Susan and Matthew Matsubara, Angela Margaret Green, Nathan, Daniel, Joshua and Lisa Ann Moore; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Upper Arlington.
